Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, held its annual Convocation and welcomed the new batch of PGPM students in an august ceremony on 16th May, 2014 attended by the Chief Guest, Managing Director and India Head of the Boston Consulting Group, Dr. Arindam Bhattacharya, Guest of Honor, Mr. Shantanu Prakash, Chairman & Managing Director, Educomp Solutions Ltd. and other senior industry dignitaries.
Dr. Arindam Bhattacharya, Managing Director and India Head of the Boston Consulting Group, delivered the convocation address to the enthusiastic gathering and handed over the certificates to the graduating students in the presence of Dr. B S K Naidu, Chairman Emeritus, Great Lakes, Gurgaon, members of the Advisory Council, Corporate dignitaries, faculty, students, parents and members of the press.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhattacharya said, “I congratulate the Graduating Classes of 2014 of the PGPM and Energy Management batches on the successful program completion. In today’s global environment, leaders have to establish themselves and create their own brands for which they have to make choices and trade-offs. I am glad to note that Great Lakes is grooming its students to be the leaders of tomorrow by equipping them with these abilities.”
Dr. B. S. K. Naidu, Chairman Emeritus, Great Lakes Gurgaon congratulated the graduates and said, “The graduating class of Energy Management has undergone a very uniquely designed energy program that combines the most practical and industry oriented skills training in India with all the key elements of leadership development. We are certain that these graduates would prove to become valuable leaders and contributors towards our energy secure future”.
Congratulating the graduates on successfully completing their course, Dr. Himadri Das, Director, Great Lakes Gurgaon, said, “The students of Great Lakes are have been molded to exhibit the highest levels of integrity, commitment, loyalty and responsibility in doing their duty to corporate India, the world and by extension to society at large. I wish our young graduates success in all their endeavors.”
As a part of the convocation ceremony, academic and extracurricular honors were handed to the meritorious students. In the PGPM batch, Gold medals were awarded to Rithvik R. Reddy for Academic Excellence and to Sanjay Sirohi for Best Outgoing Student. In the PGPM Energy batch, Gold medals were awarded to Gopinath S. for Academic Excellence and to Abhilash P. for Best Outgoing Student.
The ceremony also included a formal welcoming of the PGPM Class of 2015 - The Vikings. Mr. Shantanu Prakash, in his commencement address, asked the Vikings to seize every opportunity that comes by and to set high standards for themselves by ensuring everything they pursue is with purity of heart, clarity of mind and sincerity of action.
