Admissions Process
The Family Business Management Course at Great Lakes PGPM-FBE is designed for scions and next-generation leaders of family-owned businesses. The program equips participants with strategic insights, practical tools, and leadership skills to successfully manage and grow their family enterprises. With a blend of experiential learning, case studies, and mentorship, it provides a structured yet flexible pathway for professional and personal growth.
What do we look for in a PGPM FBE Candidate? Listen from the Admission Director
- Valid CAT*/GMATx/XAT+/NMAT scores. For PGPM- Family Business and admission process 2027-28, Great Lakes Institute of Management will accept scores of GMAT taken after 1st January 2024, CAT taken in 2025/2026, or XAT taken in 2026/2027 or latest 3 attempts of NMAT 2025 onwards. You can enter scores from multiple attempts. Only the best score will be considered for your admissions. In case you have not taken any of these tests, you can also take the Great Lakes Aptitude Test (GREAT) to become eligible for PGPM - FBE.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution. Additionally, the applicant must be a part of a family business or an entrepreneur having their own start-up. The business they are part of must be registered as per Indian laws.
- Candidates will be evaluated based on the PGPM - Family Business & Entrepreneurship admission criteria.
*Great Lakes uses CAT scores only for screening applications for admissions and IIMs have no role in the conduct of Great Lakes academic programs.

Admissions to Great Lakes programs are carried out only through the online application available on www.greatlakes.edu.in. Great Lakes Institute of Management has not authorized any third party to initiate applications on its behalf.
Great Lakes Institute of Management does not admit students under Management Quota or any other form of reservation. Any third party organization or individual offering management quota seats for Great Lakes programs would be fraudulent and applicants are requested not to approach such organizations or individuals.
- Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply to Great Lakes Institute of Management by completing an online form
- Candidates can choose to apply by visiting the website www.greatlakes.edu.in and fill in the online application form after making a payment of INR 2,200.
- The eventual application process is online for all candidates
- Candidates have to provide the official email-id of the recommender. The recommendation letter will be collected from the final selected students' recommenders and it must be submitted online

The total fees of the program is INR 22,50,000.

No. Formal work experience is not mandatory. However, applicants should be:
- Part of a family business or a successor to one, or
- An aspiring entrepreneur, or
- A full-time entrepreneur looking to scale their venture
Yes. If you do not have a CAT, XAT, GMAT, or NMAT score, you can apply through the Great Lakes Aptitude Test (GREAT) and participate in the regular selection process. This provides an alternative pathway for aspiring entrepreneurs and family business leaders seeking admission to the program.
