Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon welcomed its alumni back to campus for Reminiscence 2026 — a day dedicated to reconnecting, celebrating milestones, and reliving memories that continue to define the Great Lakes journey long after graduation.

Bringing together alumni from different graduating batches, the event served as a meaningful platform for former students to reconnect with peers, faculty members, and the institution that played a pivotal role in their personal and professional growth.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting, setting the tone for a day centred around celebration and reflection.

Address by Head of Institution

Dr. Jones Mathew - Principal & Head of Institution, Great Lakes, Gurgaon

Dr. Jones delivered the Principal’s Address and extended a warm welcome to the alumni community. He spoke about the significance of maintaining lifelong relationships with alumni and highlighted their continued role in strengthening the Great Lakes legacy.

The keynote session by Varun Bagga focused on the importance of alumni networks in shaping careers, fostering meaningful collaborations, and inspiring future generations of learners.

The event also featured insights from Chief Guest Sindhu Sharma, who reflected on the importance of staying connected with one’s alma mater and contributing meaningfully to institutional growth.

Recognising Distinguished Contributions

As part of the celebrations, Alumni Contribution Awards were conferred on Sindhu Sharma, Varun Bagga, and several other distinguished alumni in recognition of their meaningful contributions to the Great Lakes Institute of Management.

The institute also honoured alumni from the 2015 batch and earlier through the 10-Year Alumni Awards, celebrating their professional accomplishments and continued association with Great Lakes.

The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Poornima Gupta.

An Evening of Celebration and Network

The second half of the day brought a vibrant mix of cultural and sporting activities that reflected the spirit of camaraderie within the Great Lakes community.

The cultural committee showcased a series of performances, including dance and music acts that energised the audience. One of the highlights of the evening was a special musical performance by alumnus Sahil Riyaz, who captivated attendees with his performances.

Sports activities including carrom, table tennis, and box cricket matches between alumni and current students added an element of friendly competition and enthusiasm to the celebrations.

Strengthening the Spirit of Giving Back

The event concluded with a high tea session followed by the Karma Yoga Connect Session led by Dr. Swapnil Sahoo, which highlighted the institute’s social impact initiatives and encouraged alumni engagement in meaningful community outreach efforts, particularly village development programs.

Reminiscence 2026 reflected the enduring strength of the Great Lakes alumni network—bringing together generations of alumni to celebrate achievements, renew friendships, and strengthen their bond with the institution.

More than a reunion, the event stood as a reminder that while academic journeys may conclude, the connection with Great Lakes continues for life.
