Prof. Vinod Kalia

Prof Kalia is a management professor, trainer and consultant, well renowned for his expertise in the areas of Sales Management & Leadership, Channel Management, B2B Marketing and Strategic Marketing.
An alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, he has rich experience of over two decades in the corporate sector, where he last served as CEO of a German JV in India and then shifted to academics and joined MDI Gurgaon where he served as a Management Professor for over 15 years.
He brings a rich perspective in his teaching, training and consulting assignments, using a fine blend of conceptual academic rigor with practical hands-on wisdom from his long and varied years’ of experience in different sectors/companies. He has been honoured with Best Teacher award five times in about a decade by his students, business school and industry body, and also been invited to teach as a Visiting Faculty at other business schools, including many IIMs.
Besides teaching, he has been conducting customized training programs for leading companies and also open registrations programs, for over a decade and half. While at MDI, Prof. Kalia had designed and conducted many Advanced Management Programs for Top/Senior level managers in collaboration with its partner business schools in Europe and USA. He has actively been consulted by industry, including for executive education, by organisations such as Hero MotoCorp, Schneider Electric, Chambal Fertilisers, JK Tyre, MacDermid India, Reckitt Benckiser, JK Cement, BSNL, SRF Ltd, ABB Ltd, LIC, Grasim Industries Ltd, etc.
Prof. kalia has authored many management cases which are used in PGP teaching and training programs (on brands like Dettol, Gillette, Harpic, Mattel Toys, Cherry Blossom etc.), including ones published by Ivey business school, Canada. He has also authored a book on Channel Management in Indian companies published by Lambert Publishing Germany.
