Dr. Vittal Rangan S has strong expertise in Business HR Strategy and its finer Execution. He has over 20 years of experience in Industry and over 5 years in academia. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Dr. Vittal was an Assistant Professor in OB and HRM at Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya. In addition, he was the Programme Chairperson of IPM and a Member of the Board of Governors of IIM Bodh Gaya. He was also an Associate Professor at Jagdish Sheth School of Management, JAGSoM, Bengaluru.
In the Industry, Dr. Vittal has helped organizations cultivate, manage and grow their human resources through targeted interventions across the HR domains both as a CHRO and, also as a HR Strategy Consultant. With the support of the top leadership team, Dr. Vittal has got his organizations feature among the India’s Best Companies to Work For list, including the coveted Top 10 position. His experience spans across sectors: BFSI, IT and Manufacturing (Asian Paints, Aditya Birla Life, Cholamandalam Finance - Murugappa Group, HDFC Life, Mahindra Satyam, Ujjivan and ESAF Small Finance Bank). Dr. Vittal has held multiple leadership roles and has received many HR Awards for his initiatives in each of these organizations.
Dr. Vittal has been a speaker in industry forums across India and abroad: CII Delhi, NHRD Network Hyderabad, Microfinance India Summit Delhi, Women’s World Banking, New Zealand. His areas of research interest include work engagement, employee service performance, social impact and Indian management knowledge. He enjoys teaching OB, HRM, Performance and Compensation Management, Leadership, Management Lessons from Mahabharat & Gita
Dr. Vittal is a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, Postgraduate from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune and a Doctorate from Indian Institute of Management, Indore.
