The 10th edition of Crest, Great Lakes Gurgaon’s annual management fest, The Galilean, paid homage to Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de' Galilei, popularly known as Galileo, who was the Quintessential of Thinking Ahead of one’s time, Challenging Norms, Questioning Traditions, and Leaving a Permanent Mark in History.

Over 7000 young management aspirants in over 3300 teams from prestigious business schools around the country including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, XLRI-Jamshedpur, K J Somaiya, SRCC, Jamnalal Bajaj, Nirma University, BIMTECH, NIBM Pune, UBS, IMI, Symbiosis, TISS, Welingkar, Loyola, as well as engineers from IITs, BITS Pilani and VIT, battled it out in different stages of 7 Crest competitions letting their creativity and skills take form, redefining business management in the ever changing industrial landscape.

Elpida – Entrepreneurship Competition

Businesses and organizations encounter numerous challenges and setbacks throughout their journey and ‘hope’ is one of the driving forces that makes them fight those challenges, traverse through unchartered waters, and build a brighter and successful future for themselves and the society. Elpida tested the innovative and entrepreneurial mindset in the contestants through an Online Quiz, Case Study and Final Presentation of Solutions.

Stratos – Strategy Competition

In an era where startups are increasingly challenging the products of larger business houses and conglomerates to capture market with a business model questionable in sustainability. Strategist, the strategy and consulting club of Great lakes Gurgaon conducted ‘Stratos’, aimed at analysing the stiff competition between startups and behemoths in leading the market share leaderboard and devising sustainable business plans for the market.

Arete – Boardroom Simulation

Arete – a game depicting the nitty-gritties of the functioning of a typical Board of Directors of a company, was the representation of changing business management practices with changing times. With technology getting incorporated into every business practices, Arete was specially curated as the integration of technology and the domain of operations and supply chain.

Brand Meraki – Marketing Competition

Brand Meraki offered a complete brand storytelling experience in its first round, brand repositioning strategy in the second round and an ultimate war room experience in the finale round. Brand Meraki was a challenge for future marketers not to think big but to think creative and succeed in the marketing world.

Plutus – Finance Competition

Plutus was a 'Shark Tank' themed event that tested the business acumen and ability of the contestants to pitch their business idea to investors. The participating teams had to go through an online quiz followed by an elimination round where they gave a preliminary presentation of their business idea. The teams that made it to the final round had to pitch their business ideas to the judges focusing on the financial statistics and models

Analytos – Analytics Competition

We generate roughly 2.5 quintillion bytes of data daily. Understanding all this data and generating meaningful insights to create business strategies for business growth is the real goal in the world of Analytics. Analytos by Inquivista, the analytics club, tested the knowledge and ability of the contestants for understanding the fundamentals of Analytics through an online quiz followed by case study presentation round for top analysts.

Every organisation needs human capital to build itself and sustain in the long run. Without people, any institution is nothing and with ‘Archon’ which symbolizes the epitome of leadership, Harmony – the HR club of Great Lakes Gurgaon – established the importance of this through 3 rounds – Quiz, Caselet and Presentation.
