Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai

Great Lakes Institute of Management is a brain child of Dr. Bala V. Balachandran, Distinguished Professor of Kellogg School of Management founded in the year 2004 with a view of bringing Chennai on the international Management Map. The institute's vision is to become the leading management institution in India in providing International Quality Education at Indian cost and build Human Capital for Emerging Economies.

The institute is now in its eight year of operations. The institute has not only grown in terms of its physical infrastructure but also initiated two new programs, during this academic year; one for working executives of Chennai and surrounding area called PGWPM (Post Graduate Working Professional Program in Management) and the other for Senior Executives in Energy Sector, called GEMBA (Global Executive MBA in Energy Management).

The institute has made significant strides in terms of public/industry perception too. It is ranked among the top 20 B-Schools in a recent Business World Ranking. Apart from factors such as infrastructure, course content, pedagogy and international faculty, the students are of an extraordinary caliber.

Indian Subcontinent Region Decision Sciences Institute

Indian Subcontinent Region of DSI has been constituted recently in India. The Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) is a professional organization of academicians and practitioners interested in the application of quantitative and behavioral methods to the problems of society.

Through national, international and regional conferences, competitions, and publications, the Institute provides an international forum for presenting and sharing research in the study of decision processes across disciplines. The institute also plays a vital role in the academic community by offering professional development activities and job placement services.

Five regional subdivisions in the United States, as well as regions representing Mexico, Asia-Pacific and the Indian Subcontinent, operate independently within the Institute. Each region has its own elected officers and representative on the board of directors and holds annual meetings.

The institute, an independent non-profit educational organization, is located in Atlanta, Georgia, where it receives extensive support from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.
