Dr. Sandeep Srivathsan is currently an Assistant Professor in the area of Operations Management. Prior to joining Great Lakes, he has worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Oklahoma State University (OSU) , Stillwater, OK, USA, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore for over four years. He holds MS and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from OSU, and a BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Madras.

His research primarily focuses on developing performance evaluation tools for supply chain networks using queueing theory, Markov chains and discrete-event simulation. His other research interests include freight modeling and air traffic management. His current research activities have focused on prescribing departure pushback control policies that can aid in mitigating airport surface congestion, and thus help in reducing fuel consumption as well as the resulting emissions during the taxi-out process.
