He added, “If you won’t earn enough, the same money will fill the pockets of thieves and the corrupt. So, earn well and when you have more than enough, return it back to the society in the form of charity and philanthropic work.”
The Chief Guest of the occasion, Mr Ajay Shriram congratulated the graduandsand spoke about 5 traits that one must absorb in his/her personality to achieve success i.e.,Learning, Relationships, People Management, Values, and Optimism. Elaborating more on these 5, he stated that learning is a perpetual process that has to continue throughout an individual’s life and the day one stops learning is the beginning of his downfall. Following an invigorating and motivating speech, he went on to award the certificates to the graduating students along with Dr Bala and Mr DhruvShringi.
Congratulating the new graduates and welcoming the new batch of PGDM (2017-19), Mr Shringi shared his entrepreneurial journey (Yatra) with the budding entrepreneurs in attendance. He said, “Entrepreneurship (for me) has always been about a state of mind. It doesn’t matter where you are, in a small organization or a big one, if you have that state of mind, you’ll always take the initiative, you’ll always go that extra mile, and try to do things differently and always think about improving the way things are done.”
He concluded his speech advising the students to not look at a job as a job but as an opportunity to build certain skills. One must take a job that will help him/her build a skill that will take them to their end goal. He asked the students to have a vision of what they wish to do 5-10 years down the line and then work backwards towards building every skill that will take them there.
He added, “There is a specific time for earning and learning and these years are for learning even if it pays less. My own personal experience is that whatever I lost in terms of salary in my 20s and 30s, I made up far more than that in the matter of a few months in my 40s. So, focus on the learning and build a strong learning based foundation in your early years.”
Mr Mohan Lakhamraju then concluded the ceremony by thanking Mr Shriram& Mr Shringi for their time and inspiring words. He then thanked all the faculty and staff for working hard and putting together a flawless event, the parents of the students for taking their time out to attend this convocation and every other guest.
