Youngest participant from India to complete the ultra-marathon, South Africa

Aravind Kumar is full of energy as he says, “If there is one thing that really makes me happy, it is Running.” With a12-hour deadline, Aravind completed the 89-km race in 11 hours 42 minutes, becoming the only participant from Chennai and the youngest from the country, to complete the Comrades Marathon in South Africa, in June 2014.A Human Resource professional, Aravind says he is indebted to Great Lakes and his fellow classmates, for he might have never run if he had not joined Great Lakes.
“My interest for running started during my Great Lakes days, somewhere around December 2011 and my life has transformed for the better since then. I started running half marathons which is 42.195 kilometers in the year 2012. I ran my first marathon in December 2012”, Aravind rejoices talking about his initial days.
His next stop is the Western States Endurance 100 miles (161 kilometers) which run in the Sierra Nevada Ranges in California with an approximate net elevation of 41,000 feet.
