Great Lakes Volleyball team from Class of 2019 organized first of its kind Volleyball tournament in fond memory of Anshuman Vinayak (from PGDM 2019 who passed away in a road accident in 2017) on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at campus. A total of 8 teams namely Amchi Mumbai, Chennai Spartans, Delhi Dynamites, Hyderabad Nizams, Joy Kolkata, Kochi Freaks, Namma Bengaluru and Udta Punjab participated in the tournament. After several round of match between various teams, Namma Bengaluru and Delhi Dynamites made it to the finals on Sunday that was graced by Mrs. Kalpana (Anshuman’s mother), Mr. Ravi Kumar, Inspector – Mahabalipuram Police, and our Associate Dean Dr Vaidy Jayaraman. Mrs. Kalpana thanked everyone at GL for initiating this tournament. She also spoke about road safety and advised students to ride safe. Dr Vaidy also congratulated the GLVL Team and stressed on the importance of road safety.
