Prof. Sridhar Samu and Prof. Anubhav Mishra conducted a study with over 400 respondents on 'Fake News'. The research has been highlighted in the form of an article by Times of India.
Out of the respondents aged between 18-30, 74% said they have received news in the form of WhatsApp forwards, articles on social media etc. that spoke about topics such as the Rs. 2000/- currency note having a nano-GPS chip that could track location! What's astonishing is that 65% of them said they were happy receiving such news as they believed that such messages were sent as a good gesture.
