Intelligence does matter; but it's the effort and persistence that matters and helps you in the long term.
Firstly the program served the purpose of broadening our perspective.
Academically we learnt a lot of methodology and frameworks which helped and are helping us in day to day work. The faculty were very knowledgeable and they taught in a very practical way with very relevant examples.
Since the class was very well balanced, with my peers from finance, manufacturing, operations and tech backgrounds, the program gave us amazing opportunities to network and collaborate with each other even beyond the class.
The Great Lakes batch that I was a part of lived up to its reputation as a group of people who were ready to take on any challenge. I attribute this attitude to the setting: we had the opportunity to interact with a cohort of extraordinarily talented and hardworking individuals while receiving instruction from scholars of international renown. This really helped us to prepare for leadership roles we are in today. GLIM helped us with enhancing our mindset.
Be curious, and do your best to explore all the possibilities around you. If you're not afraid to fail, you'll be able to learn a lot from your mistakes - especially if you own up to them.
Persevere, especially when the going gets tough. And there's no substitute for hard work.
