Class of 2006
PGPM
Meet Sangeetha Prabakaran, PGPM Class of 2006
Sangeetha is a proud member of the Junior Pioneers, the second batch of Great Lakes Institute of Management. Her entry into the PGPM program was a bold leap of faith. With a Master's in Forensic Science and several years of Life Sciences research behind her, she stepped into management studies with no prior exposure, driven purely by curiosity and the desire to widen her horizons.
The transition was anything but easy. She had to learn to connect the dots, blending her forensic background with her newly acquired management skills. The year at the rented Saidapet campus was a whirlwind filled with academic intensity and joyful chaos. She recalls late-night group assignments, tea kadai breaks, lunches on campus or at Adyar Sangeetha, and the unforgettable camaraderie of friends. The faculty handpicked by the late Uncle Bala brought learning alive, while his own classes in Accounting left lasting memories, not only for the lessons but also for his wit and one-liners
Sangeetha was among the first to be placed during the campus recruitment process, beginning her corporate journey at Infosys. The shift to IT opened an entirely new chapter. She learnt to combine her Life Sciences expertise with management concepts to advise global Pharma and Medtech clients on their IT strategies. This became the foundation of a career shaped by domain-led consulting and presales excellence.
Her path since then has been steady and purposeful, from Infosys to a long and impactful tenure at HCL Tech, and now in her role at Wipro. She has led vertical presales, architected large deals and built high-performing teams anchored in integrity, accountability and an unwavering work ethic. Mentorship has remained central to her leadership approach, and she takes pride in nurturing value-driven teams who carry forward the principles she holds close.
Beyond work, Sangeetha’s world is shaped by curiosity and cultural depth. She is a rasika at heart, drawn to art, literature, architecture, history, ecology and the rich textures of Indian heritage. This passion led her to co-found Paanchajanya with her school friend Nrithya Jagannathan. The initiative curates experiences rooted in Indian knowledge systems, bringing together retreats, concerts, and conversations that are both enriching and contemplative.
For Sangeetha, the essence of a life well lived lies in the connections we build and the lives we touch along the way. Her philosophy remains simple yet profound.
“Places may change, paths may shift, but the difference we make is what endures and brings us one step closer to realisation.”
