Alumni Series #18

Meet Rahul Prakash, Director, Data Science and Analytics, AB InBev

We are proud to feature Rahul Prakash, an accomplished leader who reflects the spirit of innovation, perseverance and passion that continues to define the Great Lakes alumni community.

With more than 18 years of global experience, Rahul has built a distinguished career at the intersection of data science, product strategy and business transformation. In his current role as Director, Data Science and Analytics at Anheuser-Busch InBev, he leads two major functions: Global Finance Analytics and the Global Experimentation Platform, also known as TestOps.

Throughout his time at AB InBev, Rahul has combined deep technical expertise with thoughtful leadership to create and scale data-driven products that bring AI to a wider audience and drive measurable business outcomes. His work includes globally adopted innovations such as CatExpert.ai, the SKU Rationalisation Tool (AIPHO) and the BEES Personalisation Platform. Each has contributed to growth and transformation across multiple markets.

Before joining AB InBev, he held leadership roles at PwC India and Iken Solutions, an IIT Bombay incubated artificial intelligence start-up. Under his leadership, Iken Solutions received The Economic Times Most Innovative Software Product award in 2013, a recognition that highlighted his ability to turn pioneering ideas into commercially successful products.

Rahul’s journey with Great Lakes is equally significant. As part of the PGPM Class of 2009, he and a few classmates conceptualised a new platform to strengthen connections between Great Lakes and industry. This became the first HR Conclave, which went on to be a major success.

He reflects on this period as a defining experience:

“The environment at Great Lakes gave us complete freedom to design the event, along with complete accountability for its outcome. That trust has stayed with me and continues to guide how I lead teams through uncertainty.”

Outside work, Rahul brings the same energy and discipline to his personal pursuits. He is passionate about long-distance motorcycling and has completed several cross-country rides, particularly across the Himalayan region. He is also an enthusiastic swimmer and fitness-focused professional who enjoys setting new personal milestones.

Rahul’s journey is a reminder of where curiosity, courage and continuous learning can lead, both in one’s career and in life beyond work.

“Great products, like great journeys, are built by learning constantly, staying open to uncertainty and pushing beyond the obvious.”
