Senior Vice President & Head of investment strategy –Treasury Solutions at IIFL Wealth Portfolio Managers
PGPM '07

Q1. Please describe your current role at IIFLW.

Currently I am a Senior Vice President & Head of investment strategy - Treasury Solutions, a dedicated offering for corporate treasuries / institutions to manage their treasury cash & investments through various engagement models. In this role, I am responsible for designing and managing portfolios for corporate treasuries.

Q2. Please give us some insights into your professional journey. (Day to day work, how you keep your mind active, how you manage a team, etc.)

My daily work consists of staying abreast of market developments specifically in fixed income & currencies by having a checklist of data / regular readings, interacting with the relationship managers or advisors about any client portfolio action needed, calls or meetings with our existing clients in a regular frequency to discuss portfolio strategies / action areas and also with potential clients as a part of new client pitches to discuss our value proposition & offering for them. I also communicate regularly both internally and externally on our market outlook & strategy as well as key market / economic events through reports & presentations.

I keep my mind active by working on myself regularly though a regular regime of inner work (including meditation, journaling and other energy related practices) to align my body, mind, emotions & energy. I have also been pursuing self-development engaged in the process of connecting with myself at a deeper level to stay connected and aligned to my overall mission. This has helped me enjoy every moment of life and consequently keep my mind active.

Q3. What is one of the most valuable things that you took from your education at Great Lakes?

One of the most valuable things that I took away from my education at Great Lakes was the value adding mindset. In simple words, what we know has to be necessarily translated to making a difference to someone else’s life / business. I have applied this both in my professional and personal life as much as I could so far

Q4. What are some of the key skills you developed at Great Lakes that have helped you through your professional journey?

Some of the key skills I developed at Great Lakes beyond the regular courses was learn to prioritize and develop frameworks for decision making. Mapping my list of things to a framework of Urgent – Important – Significant has been instrumental in cutting the noise out in a number of occasions and move ahead with clarity and conviction.

Q5. What advice would you offer to current and future students?

My advice to current and future students is for them to listen to their mind but pursue what their heart feels connected to. Coherence between their heart and mind would help them identify and meaningfully walk their path of life purpose.
