Mr. Sanjay Behl, CEO Raymond & Mr. Hari Menon, CEO Big Basket at Human Capital Management Conference at Great Lakes
Great Lakes organized Human Capital Management (HCM) Conference at its campus on September 15, 2016. The annual conference envisions bringing together the best of HR leaders in the industry and potential managers of the future to discuss the current trends and way forward on the central theme of the event. This year’s conference was based on the theme - “Gearing up for gen-next corporate citizens”
The chief guests for the event were Mr. Sanjay Behl, CEO – Raymond and Mr. Hari Menon, Co – Founder & CEO – Big Basket.
Welcoming the chief guests, Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Founder, Chairman & Dean, Great Lakes Institute of Management, said, “I am extremely delighted to welcome two CEOs who have made a great difference to this society. These two leaders have been revolutionizing their respective sectors. I want to emphasize at this point that if you want to become a great leader, you have to first realise that it’s not about yourself. It is about investing in others, and the society.” I am glad that the two CEOs that we have today have been doing the exact same thing and all the young minds here should consider it a privilege gaining wisdom from these two, he added.
Speaking on the theme, Mr Sanjay Behl, CEO – Raymond highlighted on the socio – economic and technology changes occurring globally. He said, “Demographic unbalancing, Digital deluge, and shifting global economic power are the three most important disruptions taking place globally. The next gen corporate citizens should be able to accept the social change, digital initiatives to overcome these changes and create a smaller, smarter world with new business reality.”
Adding his views on the theme, Mr Hari Menon, Co – Founder & CEO, Big Basket said, “An entrepreneur must focus on solving a problem that revolves around the central idea. As the global market is increasingly heating and economies are getting more volatile and ambiguous, businesses need a new breed of skills and changes to future proof the economies.” Sharing knowledge on entrepreneurial planning, he further added, “One must find innovative ways and ride the chaos through this complexity. Mutual trust and team work are paramount to build strong business venture.” EQ over IQ is the attitude that all start-ups must have, he concluded.
Apart from having two high profile CEOs, the Annual HCM Conference also hosted HR heads of reputed organizations as panelists. The event witnessed two interactive panel discussions. The panelists included:
