PGDM and PGXPM batches for 2014 – 16 inaugurated at Great Lakes Chennai Campus
Great Lakes Institute of Management inaugurated its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate eXecutive Program in Management (PGXPM) for the current academic year 2014. The inauguration was attended by Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Founder Dean of Great Lakes, Prof. S. Sriram, Executive Director and Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman and Prof RS Veeravalli. The inauguration was presided over by Sh. N. Vittal, IAS, Ex Central Vigilance Commissioner and Mr. Santosh Anoo, Partner and Country Head (India), Deloitte.
The two year PGDM program is designed for students who have less than two years of work experience. The program offers a unique coverage of the economies of China, Far-East, Latin America and Africa in comparison to the India growth story. The course helps the students to develop into business-ready managers, capable of responding to complex business requirements that arise in a changing global business environment.
The Post Graduate eXecutive Program in Management (PGXPM), which is a two-year program is ideal for functional managers looking to graduate to next level, senior service officers planning for transition and family-run business owners. The PGXPM allows executives to pursue a world class management program while continuing to work and helps them leverage the classroom learning in their professional roles.
Addressing the gathering while inaugurating the two batches, Dr. Bala said that it is a memorable year for Great Lakes, as founded in 2004 it completes its 10 years. Dr. Bala while thanking all the contributors to the success of Great Lakes, also advised the students to always be compassionate towards others while following their passion.
Mr. Santosh Anoo, Partner and Country Head (India), Deloitte emphasized to the students that the two years they spend in Great Lakes should be directed towards making others successful, which will eventually make them successful. Santosh said also added that MBA is an opportunity for creating a network for a lifetime.
Sh. N Vittal shared a lot of anecdotes from his work life and history. While reciting a verse from Bhagavad Gita he said, “Any task that combines Vision and Expertise shall always lead to Success, Justice and Wealth and Great Lakes is an example of the same”.
