IIMC Strategic Marketing Workshop at Great Lakes
Great Lakes in association with IIMC Alumni Association Chennai chapter hosted the IIMC Strategic Marketing Workshop 2014 at its Manamai campus. The workshop comprised of case study challenges and social media contests with prize money worth one lakh rupee.
The event received an overwhelming response from the students of Great Lakes with more than 50 teams of 3-4 members participating for the case study challenge. In the end 8 teams were shortlisted and got the opportunity to present their marketing strategy cases before the elite panelists of IIM-C alumni. This is the 6th year in a row; the IIM-C Alumni were at Great Lakes for this workshop, owing to the continued enthusiasm shown by the students of previous batches.
Mr. J Krishnan, MD & CEO of UniMity Solutions Pvt Ltd, also the CEO of Deccan Chargers for the first two seasons of IPL, addressed the gathering and said, “Learning happens in classroom and wisdom comes from experience.” He added that unlike the earlier days, today any job has become like T20 cricket and the firms expect each one to perform from Ball zero, which is day1.
Mr. Mahalingam, Partner & Director at TSM Group of companies, filled the hall with humor by sharing his personal life experiences and helping the students understand the value of good friendships in a B-School.

Other notable members of alumni from IIMC who were a part of the panel discussion and the judges were Mr. Ajay Jain, Managing Director of Enzotech Solutions Pvt Ltd, Mr. Kalyanaraman, Chief Operating Officer of TVS Credit Services Ltd, Ms. Kamna Prasad, Director of Human Resources, CRISIL Limited and Mr. Vineesh Chadha, Managing Partner of Aumentis Consulting LLP.
Case presentations followed on two cases – A Stitch in Time and Gum India Ltd. After the case presentations, the panelists gave their valuable insights on the cases which were followed by the Q&A sessions. Later in the day, prizes worth 1 Lakh were distributed to winners of case study competitions and social media contests.
