Prachis’ interview from iDiva:
Prachi Garg, Founder GhoomoPhiro.com
Prachi is a Computer Science graduate from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She also holds a MBA degree from the Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai. She started www.ghoomophiro.com, an enterprise which organises corporate tours based on customer requirements, budget and then provides them a bouquet of options. Here's how she describes her journey.
What was the tipping point?
Coming from a business family, entrepreneurship is in my genes. So no tipping point. It had to happen.
What makes you feel proud about being a woman in India?
Being a woman gives you the freedom to showcase your multitasking ability. We play multiple roles - daughter, wife and mother - which brings out the best in us. Nevertheless, as a woman I have more choices with regard to what to wear. In India, challenges are more, which actually let you evolve as a person.
How have you dealt with failures?
Yes, my first start-up, Managing Minds, failed miserably. It was a magazine for CAT aspirants for tier-2 cities. Unfortunately, I didn't do research that eventually all entrances will go online and we didn't change as per market. Nevertheless, it was a learning experience that in a start-up one should have a vision about the market and target audience for the next five years.
What makes you wake up and keep going?
My emails and never-ending to-do list.
Prachi- the person.
I am a workaholic. I think, given a choice I won't mind working continuously for days together, if work is of my choice and I am enjoying. Thanks to technology, half of my to-dos get over on-the-go. I believe in quality of work, rather than just rushing.
