Great Lakes has a proud tradition of excellence in research. Right from inception, the role of knowledge creation in tandem with knowledge dissemination has been stressed at Great Lakes. More than 80% of the faculty holds a doctoral degree from leading institutions across the world (e.g. Case Western University, University of Maryland, Indiana University) and India (e.g. XLRI). Faculty are strongly encouraged to pursue their research interests. Great Lakes faculty has published in leading journals worldwide.
In a composite indicator (CI) of research productivity among leading Indian Business Schools, a survey conducted by professors from IIM-Bengaluru and XIM-Bhubaneswar, Great Lakes Institute of Management is ranked 2nd in Research Productivity amongst B-Schools in India.
Great Lakes has been in existence for a little more than a decade now. In this short span of time, Great Lakes has done extremely well on the research front. A very high percentage of faculty in Great Lakes is involved in research. Research at Great Lakes is also aided by the unique empirical study that students undertake. It would not be too much to say that a vibrant, intellectual, research-rich atmosphere permeates the campus of Great Lakes. With the research eco-system in place (excellent set of faculty, availability of e-databases, the empirical study and so on), Great Lakes is all set to reach the next level as far as research is concerned in the next decade.
