Q1. Please describe your current role at Google

I advise and support the sales teams globally to achieve strategic business goals through a deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem. Understand account plans, build marketing KPIs and goals and ensure delivery in line with client objectives. I also coach the human capital service team’s overall development and identify career development opportunities for them. My responsibilities also include training and coaching a team to become experts in building and managing campaigns and proposing marketing solutions.

Q2. What drives you to succeed in your career?

A very simple and straightforward outlook - A passion to coach and help others achieve their vision.

Q3. What do you think are the key skills required to succeed in the marketing domain in a companies such as Google and Amazon – your past employer? What skills should management students be equipped with?

First and most important is to be an empathetic and thoughtful marketer - with both customers and colleagues. The second skill is something that requires you to continuously improve and upgrade – Being thoughtful about marketing strategies that help provide seamless customer/user experiences.

Q4. What significant changes has the sales and marketing industry gone through during the Covid-19 pandemic?

From a technological perspective, the most significant change is - an innovative way of mimicking the ‘touch and feel’ sentiments of customers via digital and online channels.

Q5. How did your year at Great Lakes prepare you for a corporate career? Any interesting incident/experience you would like to share?

I got the right guidance while I was choosing careers that helped me get placed in a great company along with a role in marketing – a domain I always aspired to get in to

Q6. What are some of the key skills you developed at Great Lakes that have helped you through your professional journey?

The foundations of marketing and working use an analytical mindset are two of the strongest takeaways I had from my program at Great Lakes. These have immensely helped me to date, even with my role at Google.

Q7. What does being a ‘leader’ mean to you?

Being empathetic and compassionate towards everyone around you; right from an associate to a CXO

Q8. What is your message to aspiring management professionals who are currently students at Great Lakers?

Great Lakes provides a remarkable platform to learn, apply and succeed in your life aspirations. There is no substitute to working hard, but if you are ready to work hard, Great Lakes will help you catapult to success.
