The Wonder-Wall

July 10, 2011 | Posted by dcgl << back to blog

“E: The point is not about good or bad, the point is about the right and wrong. Either you can choose to be moral or immoral. There is no “by chance” to anything.

P: it’s not about only being the “by chance”, it’s about doing things in a right way at the right time. Why to complex things and make it harder for all of us

P: If efforts of 300 people go wrong because of 1, its wrong and nothing else matters”

“This was a conversation where five of us were returning to college when a sudden discussion over an uncomfortable topic took course of our argument. An opinion was generated and decisions over good and bad were stated. Five practical, strong minded and opinionated about to be MBA’s rationalized and came to a judgment of wrong and sever actions to be taken against the wrong deed. And the judgment was probably right. This blog is about all those who strive each day to be something better than yesterday, who fight for the wrong, voice for disgrace and stand strong for anything that would make their purpose of being that extraordinary go down making them nothing but just another ordinary soul. This blog is about many “five-of-us” who have a strong purpose to come here and make a meaning of all that they have planned, it’s to let them know that there is no extraordinary that one has to strive for, It’s the usual, the daily, the so called ‘life everyday’ which is nothing less than extraordinary and no wrong deed can turn the tide and make it less mortal…

….  And this blog is also for those who take the liberty to take others fate in their hands and toss it high, just to see how far it goes…

This blog is for everything that goes within the so called wonder wall of our institution… the Good, The bad and the Ugly”

There’s a very thin line between the good and the bad, between every truth and lie… between right and wrong. And no matter how much we deny we all know what our choice is. Then why is it that this very wrong exists, this very badness creeps into the human mind and shares your soul. The truth is it’s the chase. The thrill to cross that extra line and see what’s beyond the unforgiving, what’s behind that so called unknown territory. It’s that very feeling to chase something bad, just to feel the feeling of anything than the usual, anything but good for which the “badness” prevails. Whereas we all fail to realize the reason we are all here and that’s because of all that we have been doing was the best we could ever do. No out of the world talent, speech, deed would make you stand ahead it’s the usual which is good.

The ordinary is the extraordinary.

I know, I might not be that comprehensible now… but here it goes. I live in a place, which has come to be my second home. This place where everything seems normal to me is inadvertently the abnormal to the outside world. The assignments till 4 in the night and then classes at 7 was berserk for a woman of 50 back home, those endless discussions about national wealth, economy of the system and worn out TT bats are anything but ordinary to anybody who exists outside the 27 acres of this campus. But today something happened, and that changed us.

Today was one of the biggest event being organized at my college, volunteers were slogging… committee members were speechless and timeless for anything other than organization of this mammoth show. Every single walking mortal was aware that the energy is flowing… somethings going to happen. Proto.in happened, risk takers, extremists, the so called outliers from the commoners came forward to show their passion in front of those few who would love to fuel their ignited minds. The atmosphere was living, opinions were explored, pitch-in’s were called, tweets were countless, volunteers were on their pulse and organizers were leveraging every single moment to its fullest potential so that they leave no stone unturned to make this one single day memorable and right in between all of this a bright streak of idea would float, make itself heard and answer every single effort which went behind the scenes. Be it the recycling of the river water at the cost of 13 paisa or be it the video recognizing application… be it the mobile technologies making their way into the arena or luxury brands pitching in for their efforts. Be it anything that marked the honest opinion of every single person sitting into the halls of this management institution it was us, who knew that this is what I have come here for. This very thing of believing in ones idea, of knowing that yes I have it in me, made the difference. This fidget of a cold wave shivering in your spine when you think of yourself standing in front of all those who ever mattered in your life and making them believe in your dream is what I call is the making of an extraordinary you. From nowhere, an ordinary guy who would work for twelve hours a day, not realizing that his potential, leave apart being nurtured, has not even been discovered. Realizes that yes, if fifteen can come forward and show it to the world of what they believe in… even I can and I will.

No event can change your life unless you have a remembrance of it so strong, that you would want to take it right till the end to your grave. The boundaries of this institution are not borders of demarcation from the sane to insane; these boundaries are the difference from what you were three months back… to what you are today. No, Proto might not have changed any of us. But it’s those who have worked for it, passionately, those who have participated undauntedly and those who have supported relentlessly that has made a difference. After a daylong work for banners, posters, arrangements and dry runs…That friend of yours who would hardly utter a word, doggedly sit in a corner and scribble notes, might have just made an effort of shifting his head, tweaking his spectacles while you entered the hostel saying… “Dood I have an idea” I say this is worth of anything more than that you have ever dreamt off.

“Even if you can change one moment of others life, make it worthwhile for him to live with honor and humility. Know that your life was successful”

There is no measurement of one’s fulfillment of life. There are only choices which matter. Either you can run for the chase and experience the adrenaline of the wrong or you can stop, step back and start again discover the best that’s going around and make the most of it.

That wonderwall that we spoke about, there’s surely life beyond it. Probably where the bad would be far greater than the good. And may be a million more times your very soul would want you to turn back… be with the herd and keep crawling because that was so called “tolerable”. But with every single moment you turn back… you would know that no matter how much bruises more to get, I’d rather walk a step forward with humility than walk back with regret.

It’s not about the understanding of the good from the bad, the wrong from the right or the truth from the lie. But it’s the acknowledgement that matters. It’s not the chase, it’s the choice that would let you see beyond the glamour of being “known” and show you the reality.

—-

“E: you know what matters, it’s you, me and all of us sitting together and talking about it because we are friends. That matters. You know what matters is not difficulties, the hurdles… it’s the friendship that you would stand all your trials and pull you through the bad times… that matters… All is not ugly but that which is good is what matters

P: Its simple, If in this madness all of us can come forward, do the good… be a support and make things better … it would do the magic

P: why make it difficult…just to be something extraordinary… why can’t all of us just be our old self …”

“That ended the conversation as our cab turned to enter the college premises… and somewhere I was happy, that if not all there are still few for whom, the so called “friendship” still have some meaning. I was happy that with those few dark alleys within the wonder wall, there are plenty of bright shining stars… who no matter what would be there, do what’s right and make an example… “

After-all there are no brownies for making things complex….

The ordinary is the extraordinary!!
