L’Attitude13° 05′ was all about doing the new and creating positive energy and optimism in the business context. The two-day inter B-School fest of Great Lakes Institute of Management was met with much admiration and enthusiasm. Now in its 9th edition, L’Attitude13° 05′ began with Founder and Dean Dr. Balachandran welcoming the chief guests at the inaugural ceremony. The distinguished chief guests included Mr. Premkumar, Executive Vice Chairman & Managing Director, HCL Infosystems; Professor Krishna Erramilli, Stuart School of Business and IIT Chicago; and Mr. Shah Talukder Co-founder,Yaksee.
Post the inaugural session, Dr. Balachandran also took the opportunity to announce the launch of Yaksee, which is a first of its kind interactive broadcasting platform. Yaksee is supported and sponsored by Dr. Bala in India.
Speaking on this year’s theme, chief guest Mr. Premkumar said, “If your business is not disruptive, then you got to worry. There can’t be business as usual, not at least in the next 5 years. IMPRESA is the most relevant theme for today”, emphasizing on the need for organizations to “do the new” or lose market in a highly competitive and complex business era. Academicians too, supported this claim – “It is not just entrepreneurship anymore, the new thing is disruptive innovation” said Dr. VaidyJayaraman,a Professor at Great Lakes Institute of Management; while chief guest Professor Erramilli spoke about the growing trend of business model innovations in the wake of expensive service and process innovations.
The two day event that was held on 9-10th January 2016, was lined with competitions in Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and the growing startup culture. Diffusing the intellectual tension in the air were a couple of recreational activities to keep guests and audience engaged – the highlight being the surprise flash mob by Great Lakers themselves! Day one concluded with first level participation in the various contests and a cultural night comprising of a fashion show, dance, skit and a live band.
L’Attitude13° 05′ certainly raised the bar and we are ever so thankful to our chief guests, Honorable Dean, faculty members, students and participants for making that possible.
