Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, has been chosen by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, (MHRD), Government of India for establishing Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at our campus. The Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.
Ms. Elizabeth, Professors Veeravalli and Swaminathan have been coordinating this effort. A Great Lakes Innovation Council has been set up that will comprise of the Dean, Associate Dean, Senior faculty members and Entrepreneurs alumni. As part of the council Cell, 10 member team from PGDM and PGPM have been selected to support all the activities. These students will get opportunity to participate in various innovation related initiatives organized by MHRD and will also get to meet and interact with business leaders and top notch academicians.
